A durable and healthy alternative to synthetic non-stick coatings!
Whether you are frying, stewing, cooking meat or fish, everything goes much more smoothly with this pan.
The SKOTTSBERG® carbon steel pan is prized for many special qualities. The pan is pre-seasoned with vegetable oil, so food does not stick easily. In addition, the pan base is 2.5 mm thick so that it does not warp during heating. The pan handle is hollow, so it does not absorb heat from the pan and stays cool.
Why carbon steel?
A carbon steel pan combines the best properties of stainless steel and cast iron. It is made from a mix of iron and carbon. These pans offer the cooking speed and temperature control of stainless steel together with non-stick qualities like a cast iron pan.
This pan withstands high temperatures, so it is perfect for frying vegetables, fish, meat, potatoes or pancakes. It heats up quickly, and only a little fat is needed to prepare meat. The pan is sturdy and suitable for any heat source. Cooking on induction or in the oven is no problem for this pan.
The ideal pan free of PFAS, PFOA and PTFE coatings, made to last a lifetime
The pan lasts forever if used correctly. Avoid thermal shock - this prevents the pan from cracking. Do not heat a cold pan on maximum heat and do not put a hot pan under a cold tap, quite simple, right? A few more reasons why you really should own this pan: because the pan base is 2.5 mm thick, it is well protected against deformation even when cooking on induction. Just try not to overheat the hob straight away, as carbon steel does not like it. You can also confidently place it in the oven, as there is nothing on it that could be damaged.
Using the pan:
To keep food from sticking to the base, it is important to follow these instructions: Before cooking, take the ingredients out of the fridge so that they warm up to room temperature. Place the pan on the heat source. Let the pan heat up slowly over low heat. Add oil or butter only once the pan is well heated. Melt the butter until it stops foaming, or until the oil warms up. Let ingredients that stick to the base gently cook without trying to loosen them. If necessary, slightly reduce the heat and calmly wait until the food releases from the base on its own.
