Dental guards (graves) are used not only in boxing, MMA or other martial arts, but also in many other sports such as basketball, football, hockey and more. One of the main purposes of dental graves is to protect the teeth from knocking out, the lips from being pierced, the gums and jaw from being struck. Dental guards absorb shock well. Studies have shown that a grave can reduce the impact force by as much as 40%! Dental guards also help to properly squeeze and position the jaw in the correct position. Irregular position of the jaw affects the athlete's endurance, reaction and impact strength.
