The "Sawyer SP2129 Micro Squeeze" water filtration system is the basis of the world's two most popular water filters - the "Sawyer Mini" and "Squeeze" respectively. The filter contains many tiny U-shaped hollow-fibre microtubules certified for 0.1 micron filtration, meaning there are no pores larger than 0.1 micron. Thanks to its light weight (45 g) and the fact that it can be rolled up and, when empty, folded down to a small size, it takes up almost no space in a backpack. Made in the USA, the "Sawyer SP2129 Micro Squeeze" water filtration system is extremely convenient to carry and ready to use in an instant.
PointONE™ technology ensures 0.1 micron absolute filtration and removes 99.99999% of all bacteria, such as salmonella, cholera, leptospirosis and E. coli, 99.9999% of all protozoa (such as giardia and cryptosporidium) and 100% of microplastics, exceeding strict US safety standards (EPA and NSF).
In addition, water filtered through the "Sawyer SP2129" filter also meets Czech and EU drinking water standards - SOP 06.0.52, ČSN EN ISO 9308-1 and SOP 06.0.3, ČSN EN ISO 6222. It also complies with the following EU standards: 2008/60/EC, 95/45/EC and 2008/84/EC.
Main features:
- Size: 11.5 x 3.5 cm, about 2 cm smaller than the SP128 Mini; weighs only about 45 g
- Convenience: the mouthpiece can be closed or unscrewed, making it easy to clean. It can also be replaced. The filter also comes with an adapter for filling standard plastic bottles.
- Cleaning: the filter comes with a plastic-bottle adapter that allows backwashing (no syringe required).
- Capacity and service life: the filter capacity can reach an incredible 378,000 litres of water.
- Filtration rate: compared with the SP128 Mini, this filter offers a significantly higher flow rate (about 1.5 l/min).
- Storage pouch: the filter comes with a 1 l pouch made of an extremely flexible and durable material, redesigned so that it can now stand on its own.
Use:
Fill the pouch/bag from a lake, stream or river, screw the filter onto it and:
- Squeeze the bottle and filter the water by pouring it into another bottle
- Drink straight from the filter - the filter has an on/off mouthpiece (similar to those on cyclists' bottles)
- Attach the filter to any bottle with a screw cap and filter water by pouring it in
- Attach the filter to a hydration backpack and drink water from it
Included in the set:
- 1 l storage pouch
- "Sawyer" SP2129 "PointONE™ Micro Squeeze" filter
- Cleaning syringe
- Plastic bottle adapter for backwashing and easily filling bottles with screw caps
- Drinking straw
- Replacement seal
Filter advantages:
- Light and convenient to carry (about 45 g)
- Contains hollow-fibre microtubules that are smaller and therefore more effective than other filters
- Has no moving parts that could break
- No pumping required
- Uses no chemicals that would affect the taste of the water
- Higher flow rate than other filters (1.5 l/min)
- Can be used for an almost unlimited time - you can clean the filter using the included syringe or the plastic bottle adapter, restoring up to 98.5% of the filter's flow
- You can fill the pouch at any water source and start sipping clean water from the straw
- An excellent water-storage solution, this pouch is foldable and therefore takes up less space in a backpack than a plastic bottle
- You can also purchase additional filtration pouches in various sizes
Note: After filtering, the filter must not freeze, as this would damage the porous membrane (applies to all porous filters). When using the filter in cold weather, carry it, for example, in a chest pocket (given its small size, this will not be a problem) until it dries out completely.
