This SKOTTSBERG® cast iron pan has many fantastic features. It is pre-seasoned with vegetable oil, so food will not stick. It is also made of lightweight, wear-resistant cast iron. The pan is very sturdy and practically indestructible.
The pan heats up quickly, so it is very important to let it warm up slowly to prevent the bottom of the pan from warping. The handle of this pan is hollow, so it does not get hot. This pan can also withstand high temperatures, making it perfect for frying fish, meat, potatoes, pancakes or toast. The pan is strong, sturdy and ideal for use on any heat source. It can be used on an induction hob, over an open fire or in the oven (up to 250 ℃).
Why choose cast iron?
A natural non-stick surface and good heat retention are the main advantages of a cast iron pan. Once cast iron heats up, it stays hot for a long time, so food also stays warm longer.
Using the pan:
To keep food from sticking to the bottom of the pan, it is important to follow these steps. Before you start cooking, take the ingredients out of the fridge so they warm up to room temperature. Place the pan on the heat source. Heat slowly over low heat and only add oil or butter once the pan is well heated. When using the pan for the first time, make sure to use slightly more oil or butter than usual. If the ingredients stick slightly to the bottom of the pan, leave them to fry gently without trying to separate them from the bottom. You can also reduce the heat a little and calmly wait until the food releases from the bottom of the pan.
