A sustainable and healthy alternative to synthetic non-stick coatings!
Whether you fry or stew, prepare meat or fish, everything goes much more smoothly with this pan.
The SKOTTSBERG® carbon steel pan is valued for its many special qualities. The pan is pre-seasoned with vegetable oil, so food does not stick easily. In addition, the base is 2.5 mm thick so that it does not warp during heating. The handle is hollow, so it does not absorb heat from the pan and stays cool.
Why carbon steel?
A carbon steel pan combines the best properties of stainless steel and cast iron. It is made from a mixture of iron and carbon. The pan offers the heating speed and temperature control of stainless steel together with non-stick properties like a cast iron pan.
This pan withstands high temperatures, making it perfect for cooking vegetables, fish, meat, potatoes or pancakes. It heats up quickly and needs little fat to prepare meat. The pan is sturdy and suitable for any heat source. Induction and oven cooking are no problem for it.
The ideal pan without PFAS, PFOA and PTFE coatings, one that will last a lifetime
The pan lasts forever if used correctly. Avoid thermal shock to keep the pan from cracking. Do not heat a cold pan on maximum heat and do not put a hot pan under a cold tap - quite simple, right? A few more reasons why you should own this pan: because the base is 2.5 mm thick, it is well protected against deformation even when cooking on induction. Just try not to overheat the hob straight away, because carbon steel does not like that. You can also safely place it in the oven, as there is nothing on it that could be damaged.
Using the pan:
To keep food from sticking to the base, it is important to follow these guidelines: before cooking, take the ingredients out of the fridge so they warm up to room temperature. Place the pan on the heat source. Let the pan heat up slowly over low heat. Add oil or butter only once the pan is well heated. Melt the butter until it stops foaming, or let the oil warm up. Let ingredients that stick to the base cook gently, without trying to loosen them. If needed, slightly lower the heat and calmly wait until the food releases from the base on its own.
