Benchmade 112SBK-BLK is a professional diving knife with enhanced corrosion resistance, developed for a US Navy program.
Special purpose
The Benchmade 112SBK-BLK features a full-tang construction, meaning it is made from a single solid piece of steel. The 89 mm blade has a specialized Opposing Bevel profile with 4 distinct function zones:
- a hook for cutting nets and ropes,
- a serrated edge for fibrous materials,
- a plain edge,
- a safe, blunt-tipped point.
At its widest point, the Teflon-coated blade is 3 mm thick. These parameters ensure high functionality, durability, and reliability, making the knife suitable for harsh underwater conditions.
Excellent corrosion resistance
The knife is made of Bohler N680 chromium-molybdenum stainless steel, known for its exceptional resistance to rust. Hardened to 58-60 HRC, this steel has a high nitrogen content (0.20%), which significantly increases corrosion resistance.
Blades made of this steel resist wear, hold an edge for a long time, and are relatively easy to sharpen. Austrian N680 steel is an economical alternative to H1 steel, with much better edge retention.
Comfortable handle
The handle is made of rubberized Santoprene plastic with a non-slip texture, ensuring a good grip even while wearing gloves. Molded finger grooves and a lanyard hole increase the knife's safety and comfort.
Locking sheath
Included is a polymer sheath with a locking mechanism that attaches to a PFD (life vest) clip.
Key specifications: blade length 89 mm, blade thickness 3.15 mm, total length 205 mm, weight 91 g, fixed-blade design made of stainless N680 steel hardened to 58-60 HRC with high corrosion resistance, intended for tactical use, supplied with a plastic sheath that also serves as a sharpener holder.
