The most noteworthy feature here is the quick opening system - Kershaw's patented Speed Safe. The opening of the blade is done in the traditional way with a flipper, however, it is assisted by a spring used in the grip. It speeds up the opening, while making it easier and more reliable. Once opened, the head is secured by a highly durable frame lock. Due to the simplicity of construction and the full use of steel, it is characterized by high durability, and guarantees high safety.
