Kershaw Bel Air with CPM MagnaCut powder steel blade
The knife has a 79 mm long blade made from CPM MagnaCut super stainless steel, produced using powder metallurgy technology. The main difference between CPM MagnaCut and other stainless steels is its chromium content. Removing chromium carbides from the steel's composition made it possible to achieve a fine microstructure, so CPM MagnaCut is much easier to sharpen compared to steels with similar wear resistance.
The absence of chromium carbides not only improved the balance between toughness and wear resistance, but also corrosion resistance. CPM MagnaCut combines the toughness of CPM-4V, the corrosion resistance of CPM-20CV, the edge retention of CPM-CruWear / CPM-4V, and impressive hardness of up to 64 HRC, making it currently regarded as one of the best steels in the world used in production knives.
The blade has a Stonewashed finish, which effectively hides any scratches or signs of wear.
Convenient one-handed opening
The blade can be conveniently and quickly opened with one hand using the ambidextrous thumb stud, suitable for both right- and left-handed users. KVT ball bearings ensure a high level of performance and smooth blade opening.
Robust Bel Air locking mechanism
The DuraLock lock used on the Kershaw knife, similar to the well-known Axis Lock, is ambidextrous. The system uses an omega-type spring and is considered very secure. The lock is positioned for convenient operation with the thumb.
The handle scales are made from canvas-textured Micarta, ensuring a secure grip even in adverse conditions - wet hands, cold, or mud. The slim build and light weight (only 74 g) make the Kershaw Bel Air a perfect EDC knife - one you always carry with you but never feel the weight of.
Repositionable clip on an EDC knife
Discreet pocket carry is ensured by the Deep Carry clip, which can be mounted on either side of the handle.
