The 440C steel used, with a hardening of 58-60 HRC, is highly resistant to corrosion, has good retention (ability to hold sharpness), is wear-resistant and sharpens easily and quickly. With such properties, the 440C steel knife will be an ideal choice for beginner outdoor enthusiasts and those who do not want to waste time on lengthy and tedious sharpening of a premium steel knife. The strong stab (tip) and high flat grind provide good penetration, blade strength and good cutting properties. The blade has a matte stonewashed (abrasive stone bath) finish , which effectively masks minor scratches or abrasions to the blade from use.
Thanks to the double-sided peg, the knife can be quickly and easily unfolded with one hand. Such a solution makes the knife not only instantly ready for use, but also convenient for right- and left-handed users. After unfolding, the blade is securely locked with the G-lock mechanism, a reliable lock with high mechanical resistance, which, like the peg, can be operated with the left or right hand.
The handle is mainly responsible for the comfortable handling of the knife. The Ganzo G746-1-BK has straight G-10 plastic lin ers attached to steel frame inserts with torx screws. The rough texture of the plastic, as well as the gemmetric cutouts on the handle, make the knife secure and comfortable even in a wet or frozen hand. Convenient carrying of the knife in a pocket, on a belt or by a backpack is ensured by a resilient steel clip (tip up) with an option to switch to the left side. A hole has been made in the section of the liner protruding beyond the facings, which will be ideal for attaching a paracord tail.
