The "Kershaw Kingbolt 1346" is an affordable EDC folding knife from the "Starter" series, featuring an 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade, a proven frame lock, and the "SpeedSafe" assisted opening mechanism.
Thanks to its modern design, comfortable size, sturdy steel, and functional construction, the "Kershaw Kingbolt 1346" works equally well as a typical EDC knife and as an elegant "gentleman's folder".
Stainless steel
The "Kershaw Kingbolt 1346" is built for everyday use and light tasks, which is clearly reflected in its optimal size, sturdy construction, and typically functional style.
The 82 mm long blade is made of the popular 8Cr13MoV steel, hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel offers good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The 8Cr13MoV steel blade is well suited to everyday use thanks to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness, and easy sharpening, for which a simple pocket sharpener is enough.
Functional style
The slim blade with a drop-point profile features an impressive "BlackWash" finish (black oxidation), which effectively hides any scratches or marks that occur during use.
Thanks to the strong tip, concave grind, and gentle blade curve, the knife offers good cutting performance, and the blade does not bind in the material being cut.
The blade thickness at its widest point is 3 mm - a compromise between the knife's durability and functionality in everyday work.
Convenient opening
The knife can be opened one-handed in two ways: with the milled flipper or the dual thumb stud, so you can choose the method you prefer.
Both solutions are convenient for both right- and left-handed users, and they also allow comfortable use of the knife while wearing gloves.
Assisted opening mechanism
The opening process is aided by the "SpeedSafe" assisted mechanism. When you push out the stud or press the flipper edge, the assisted mechanism engages an internal spring that dynamically deploys the blade, making the knife ready for use in a split second.
Sturdy lock
Accidental blade closure is effectively prevented by a monolithic frame lock, considered one of the most durable locking mechanisms. The lock, as well as the flipper and stud, can be operated one-handed.
Pocket clip
Discreet pocket carry is made possible by a high-mounted clip (non-reversible). The handle also has a lanyard hole for attaching a decorative paracord lanyard, very popular among most knife owners.
Modern handle
The Kershaw Kingbolt 1346 has straight stainless steel handle scales, whose contoured shape and characteristic cutouts improve grip. The black-washed finish of the blade and handle gives the knife a futuristic style.
