The 76 mm long blade is made of popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. The steel used has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6. The 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
The slim blade with a utilitarian clip-point profile has an eye-catching BlackWash finish (black oxidation), which effectively masks any scratches or abrasions to the blade incurred during use. Thanks to the use of a very aggressive hilt, concave grind and a cutting edge with a gentle curve, the knife has good cutting properties and penetrates easily. The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.8 mm, which is a compromise between the strength and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
