The blade is made of high-tech CPM- D2 steel hardened to 60-62 HRC. CPM-D2 is a powder variant of air-hardened D2 steel, but with much better retention and a modified carbide microstructure, which makes the blade outstandingly resistant to wear, impressively long-lasting sharpness and relatively easy to sharpen. Such parameters make CPM- D2 a great alternative to much more expensive super steels, especially if you don't have a sizable budget. However, it is worth remembering to properly maintain the knife, so that the knife will serve reliably for many years. When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.

The 90 mm long drop-point blade is coated with wear-resistant cobalt black fnish, which protects the steel from corrosion and gives the knife a military feel. Thanks to the use of a strong stock, high concave grind and a gently rounded cutting edge, the knife has excellent cutting qualities.
The blade can be instantly disassembled with one hand, using a double-sided peg. Thanks to the use of phosphor bronze washers, the blade runs smoothly and dynamically. The Benchmade 430BK-02 Redoubt has contoured Grivory plastic liners in black. Grivory is a glass-epoxy laminate that features light weight, high mechanical strength, resistance to many acids and solvents and sudden temperature changes. Thanks to the aggressively textured overlay, we get an extremely secure and safe grip on the knife while working. A hole in the back of the tang allows you to attach a lanyard or decorative paracord braid. To increase the reliability and durability of the design, the knife uses skeletonized steel reinforcing inserts. Discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket is made possible by the deep carry clip (non-transferable).
