The Fenix E05R is a compact everyday carry (EDC) flashlight in the shape of a keychain, delivering up to 400 lumens of light output, 4 useful light modes, a range of up to 64 m, and a built-in rechargeable battery charged via a micro-USB port.
Extremely lightweight
The Fenix E05R's housing is made of aluminum treated with HA-III hard anodizing, making the flashlight's body and head resistant to mechanical damage, scratches, and wear. Its compact size (68 mm) allows it to be carried comfortably in a pocket or attached as a keychain. The machined aluminum surface improves grip and prevents the flashlight from slipping out of your hand.
More powerful and far-reaching
The light source is a powerful Cree XP-G2 S3 LED, which in burst mode emits 400 lumens with a luminous intensity of 1046 candela and a range of up to 64 meters. Light is distributed evenly and widely thanks to an extremely thin collimating lens.

Operating modes
4 light modes are available to the user: low, medium, high, and burst at 400 lumens. In the high 150-lumen mode, the flashlight can run for up to 55 minutes, while in the low 3-lumen mode it can run for up to 30 hours. The most useful modes for everyday use are the burst mode (full power, 400 lumens) for brief but intense illumination, and the low mode (moonlight). The gentle 3-lumen glow is more than enough for reading, illuminating a handbag or toolbox, or unlocking a door.
Built-in rechargeable battery
The flashlight uses a 340 mAh lithium-polymer rechargeable battery, charged via a hidden micro-USB port. The charging port is only accessible after separating the flashlight's housing, which keeps it well protected from dirt and moisture. During charging, the LED indicator glows red, turning green once charging is complete. Charging time is approximately 1 hour (from empty to full).
Metal switch with lock-out function
The flashlight is turned on and modes are changed using a metal switch located on the side panel. Flashlight controls:
- a full press of the button turns the flashlight on and off
- single taps allow you to switch modes
- double taps activate the lock-out mechanism, which prevents the flashlight from turning on accidentally while being carried
The minimalist interface makes the flashlight ideal for everyday use, where quick access to light is usually all that's needed.
Protection features
The flashlight uses a system that protects the electronic circuit from overheating. The LED generates a lot of heat in high mode, so the driver automatically reduces the output by a few lumens to lower the temperature. The high IP68 protection rating makes the flashlight resistant to full submersion in water (up to 2 m depth), dust, dirt, and drops.
The specified parameters were obtained under laboratory conditions. A 340 mAh Li-Po battery was used during testing.
