TECHNOLOGIES
VECTRAN BREAKER - Vectran is a synthetically manufactured high-tech fibre inspired by nature. Like spider silk, Vectran is a liquid-crystal polymer (LCP). It is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and further processed into a multi-strand thread. Like spider silk, Vectran offers enormous tear resistance at a very low weight - exactly the right properties for a puncture protection insert in a premium Continental bicycle tire. A Vectran Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than a comparable nylon breaker, without adversely affecting rolling resistance.
BLACKCHILI - With its unique tread compound, produced only in Germany, Continental has revolutionised cycling. The legendary BlackChili Compound answers the eternal question of the best balance between grip and rolling resistance. Regular test wins confirm its measurable and noticeable advantages for cyclists, proven both in the laboratory and on the road. The latest polymers, together with specially developed carbon black particles and fillers, guarantee unique performance.
LAZER GRIP - Lazer Grip makes you one with the road. The laser-cut micro profile structure extends over the tire shoulder and provides outstanding cornering.
