Technologies
Vectran Breaker - Vectran is a synthetically produced high-tech fibre based on a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran is a liquid-crystalline polymer (LCP). It is spun from the melted liquid polymer Vectra and further processed into a multi-strand thread. Like spider silk, Vectran offers enormous tear resistance at a very low weight - exactly the right properties for a premium Continental bicycle tyre puncture protection insert. A Vectran Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects against cuts more effectively than a comparable nylon breaker, without adversely affecting rolling resistance.
