TECHNOLOGIES
VECTRAN BREAKER - Vectran is a synthetically manufactured high-tech fibre modelled on nature. Like spider silk, Vectran is a liquid-crystalline polymer (LCP). It is spun from the melted liquid polymer Vectra and processed into a multi-strand thread. Like spider silk, Vectran has enormous tear resistance at very low weight - exactly the right properties for a premium Continental bicycle tire puncture protection insert. A Vectran Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than a comparable nylon breaker, without adversely affecting rolling resistance.
BLACKCHILI - With Continental's unique tread compound, produced only in Germany, they have revolutionised the sport of cycling. The legendary BlackChili Compound answers the eternal question of the best balance between grip and rolling resistance. Regular test wins confirm the measurable and noticeable advantages for the cyclist, established both in the laboratory and on the road. The latest polymers together with specially developed carbon black particles and filler materials guarantee unique performance.
LAZER GRIP - Lazer Grip makes you one with the road. The lasered micro-profile structure extends over the tire's shoulder and provides outstanding cornering.
