TECHNOLOGIES
VECTRAN BREAKER - Vectran is a synthetically manufactured high-tech fibre inspired by a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran is a liquid-crystalline polymer (LCP). It is spun from the melted liquid polymer Vectra and further processed into a multi-strand thread. Like spider silk, Vectran offers enormous tear resistance at very low weight - exactly the right properties for a puncture protection insert in a premium Continental tire. A Vectran Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than a comparable nylon breaker, without adversely affecting rolling resistance.
BLACKCHILI - With Continental's unique tread compound, produced only in Germany, the brand has revolutionised cycling. The legendary BlackChili Compound answers the eternal question of the best balance between grip and rolling resistance.
