Shimano GRX RD-RX820 Shadow+ // 2x12-speed, 42T
With GRX, Shimano launched the first drivetrain group developed specifically for gravel riding. Since then, the range of uses and options for gravel bikes has expanded considerably. Shimano responds to this trend by broadening the GRX line-up as well. With 12 sprockets on the rear wheel and a choice between 1x and 2x configurations, you can tailor your gearing even more closely to your needs.
- The RX820 rear derailleur was developed specifically for the GRX 2x12 drivetrain with 11-34 or 11-36 tooth cassettes designed for Shimano Road freehub bodies. This gearing gives you a very wide range together with very finely graduated shifting.
- Thanks to the built-in Shadow RD+ chain stabilizer, the chain stays securely on the chainring even on the roughest gravel roads. As usual for Shimano products, shifting is fast and precise with little finger effort. Even in unfavourable conditions the chain shifts reliably from one sprocket to the next. To let you fine-tune the rear derailleur optimally, it has its own adjustment screw for setting the Bowden cable tension.
- Thanks to the compact Shadow design, the rear derailleur sits closer to the frame. This slim, low-profile design not only looks good but also protects the rear derailleur from damage or from branches that could interfere in the event of a fall.
