Ever since the Deore XT group revolutionised the mountain biking world in 1980, it has become a byword for reliability, durability and functionality. Over the years it has been continuously optimised and refined, and to this day it is regarded as a pioneer of the cycling industry. Even so, Shimano has managed to make a big leap forward with the Di2 M8200 version. Thanks to a modern wireless control system, outstanding performance, a 12-speed drivetrain and the usual exceptional build quality, there are no limits to your cycling dreams, and you have a faithful companion for your adventures.
Smooth, precise shifting has always been a hallmark of the Shimano brand. This has been further improved with Hyperglide+ cassettes. The shape of the individual teeth is designed so that shifting to a higher or lower gear produces almost no noise or vibration. At the same time, the chain is held more securely and possible slipping is effectively prevented. Shifting times have also been significantly reduced.
The Shimano cassette uses a combination of different materials: the 10 smallest sprockets, where the chain is wrapped the least and which are subjected to the highest loads, are made of steel, while the two largest sprockets and the spider itself are made of high-quality aluminium. These load-appropriate materials ensure even cassette wear and extend chain service life. They also save a considerable amount of weight.
Note: The lockring has external teeth. The cassette can therefore only be fitted and removed using the SHIMANO TL-LR021 lockring tool. This cassette is not compatible with Extralite hubs.
