Arena Powerskin Primo Open Back - women's open-back competition swimsuit
Primo is the world's first tensoelastic competition swimsuit. It combines effective compression with exceptional stretch in a new way, supporting the muscles while allowing plenty of freedom of movement. This versatile suit is suited to all swimming strokes and distances.
The suit is the result of several years of development and research by Arena, carried out in close cooperation with elite swimmers. It is not comparable to earlier race suits, as it is based on an entirely new technology built on textile innovation. The word Primo means "first" in Italian.
The suit's new Hyperforce™ fabric is tensoelastic (tension + elasticity): firm yet flexible. Primo brings together the highest compression, durability and a completely new kind of stretch throughout. The suit feels pleasant to wear and does not restrict movement.
The Hyperforce™ fabric has a flow-guiding surface that reduces water resistance and improves glide. It is made of naturally water-repellent TPU fibre, which further enhances hydrodynamics. Thanks to the material, the suit can be recycled at the end of its life.
The front features the X-tape structure inside the suit, familiar from Arena's Carbon Glide. The X-shaped taping supports and stabilises the core and connects the upper body to the hips. It helps you notice if your body rotates too far during a stroke and brings you back to an economical, streamlined swimming position.
The back has strong taping over the buttocks and rear thighs inside the suit. It lifts the hips and legs, eases leg extension and helps maintain the correct swimming position when tired. The lift is especially noticeable in the turn and the dolphin kick.
The stretchy suit is easy to put on, significantly speeding up race-day routines. Primo can be put on in five minutes, whereas a traditional competition suit could take 30-45 minutes. Still choose the same size as your previous Arena competition suit or follow the size chart - the ease of putting it on does not indicate the fit. The flexible Primo is comfortable to wear yet still delivers top-class compression.
For the first time, an Arena competition suit is available in two lengths according to torso length. The longer length is available in sizes 30-34. Added fabric on the straps improves comfort, and a silicone band at the leg opening keeps the leg in place.
